Valentina Tóth (1994, Leeuwarden) played as from 12 years old piano and chamber music in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Italy and the USA and shortly in Greece. At the age of 18, her debut recording Hungarian Horizon with works by Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály was published to critical acclaim in various countries.Her partly Hungarian background and growing up in bilingual Friesland as well as performances in professional musical theatre gave extra impulses to her music.
Highlights were the opening of the Eem & Weem Festival and the Pianomarathon in the Oosterpoort, Groningen, (new grand piano), playing at the Hungarian commemoration 1956, the Grachten Festival in Carre, for the American Community Trust in Carnegie Hall, New York (at the age of 15), live on TV for Menahem Pressler (Edisongala 2009), the Uitmarkt Amsterdam in the Concertgebouw and playing for embassies and state representatives.
Valentina plays in the Volkmann Trio with Bente Verheul (cello) and Caroline Groen (violin) and in other ensembles. She played quatre mains with the Nationaal Symfonieorkest and three choirs and piano and celesta in Jeugd Orkest Nederland (JON) and Viotta Jeugdorkest in the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. She soloed with the Fries Symfonieorkest and the Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest in the Netherlands, Italy and live in ‘DVD HJSO’ in Mozarts 12th piano concerto and with the Bazuin in Gillinghams Concert (World premiere; live on Frisian radio). In 2011 the Dutch broadcasting company BNN made a documentary about her (Je zal het maar zijn), for which she was allowed to give a concert at the Menuhin School. She is the regular pianist in the fourth, fifth and sixth season of De Tiende van Tijl, a television programme on classical music.
